ELNORA HAMILTON

Surrounded by family she entered peaceful eternal rest on April 15, 2021. Elnora was born on February 14, 1946 to the parentage of the late Earmon Johnson and late Mary Lee Cox Walker Davis.

Elnora was known to some as BIG “E” and Mama. At an early age, she confessed Christ when she joined Red Oak Missionary Baptist Church in Longview where she was baptized. Later in life her family moved their membership to Galilee Baptist Church. After moving to Dallas, she later joined the Cornerstone Baptist Church where she remained faithful until her health failed.

Elnora married the late Robert Earl Hamilton and to this union three children were born.

She attended Longview Public Schools. She attended Graham College where she became a licensed barber. She worked at the W/C offices in Dallas.

Elnora loved life, her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Elnora’s passion was cooking, entertaining family and friends and helping others in the South Dallas Community.

Elnora was the oldest of thirteen siblings and the 1st grandchild.

Elnora was a Southpaw (left-handed) with excellent penmanship. She was a master in the kitchen especially on the BBQ Pit.

Elnora was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hamilton; grandparents, Elvira Cox Johnson, Noble Cox, Rogers and Nancy Davis; parents, Earmon Johnson, Mary Lee Davis, Roger L. Davis; stepson, Marcie Hayes.
