ERNEST SIMS

Ernest Lee Sims (Knee Baby) was born September 25, 1947, in Chillicothe, Texas. to the Union of the late Rev. W. S. Sims and Dalma Doris King Sims. Ernest was the seventh of eight. He attended school in Chillicothe, Texas. He worked twenty plus years as a conductor and engineer for the Santa Fe Railroad in Lubbock, Tx, until his unfortunate accident. He lived an active life. He later reside in Arlington, TX and become a faithful member at the Cornerstone Baptist Church since 2003. At the age of 73, Ernest went home to be with the Lord on August 19, 2021. He is proceed in death by his parents. Brothers, Willie Lee Sims, H. K. Sims, Bonnie Joe Sims, Aldean (A.D.) Sims, and Freddie Lee Sims. One sister, Mary Lou Sims Gates, and a grand daughter; Tamiaya Nichole Sims. He leaves to cherish his memories: One brother, Clark Gilbert Sims of Amarillo, Tx. Three daughters; Ernestine Sims of Amarillo, TX, Clarissa Ann Sims of Lubbock, Tx
Denise Sims of Dallas, Tx. Five sons; Earnest Lee (Elaine) Mitchell, James Henry (Shawna) Milligan both of Amarillo, Tx, Evan Lee Sims, Dorian Dorshea Sims both of Arlington, Tx and Jeremiah Daron Sims of Columbus, Ohio. Twenty six grand children and twenty great grandchildren. A host of nieces and nephews, church family and friends.
