Eutha Mae Masters

August 2, 1927 — May 30, 2025

It is with deep love and gratitude that we celebrate the life of our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, Eutha Mae Masters, who passed away peacefully on May 30, 2025, at the age of 97.

 Born on August 2, 1927, in Lufkin, Texas, Mrs. Masters was the daughter of the late K.D. Moore and Jane Ellen Anderson Moore. She was also preceded in death by husband James Eddie Masters, and her brother, Sam A. Moore.

Mrs. Masters lived a life centered on family, faith, and service. As a longtime member of Marsalis Avenue Church of Christ, she found great purpose in serving through the Clothes Closet and Pillow Ministry and served as President of the Horizon Estates Association. She was known for her quiet strength, generous spirit, and devotion to helping others.

 Education was important to Mrs. Masters. She graduated from Crockett Colored High School and attended Mary Allen College in Crockett, Texas. For many years, she worked as a Building Engineer for Dallas Independent School District, retiring in 1992 after a long and dedicated career.

More than any of her accomplishments, Mrs. Masters will be remembered for her unwavering faith, deep love for her family, and kindness to everyone she met. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, compassion, and grace that will remain with us always.

Mrs. Masters is survived by her daughter, Barbara J. Nwankwo of Dallas, Texas; her son, James A. Masters (Mary Masters), of Mansfield, Texas her grandson, Terry L. Johnson of Dallas, Texas; her grandson, Jason A. Masters of The Woodlands, Texas; and a host of loving relatives and friends.

We are blessed to have shared life with Mrs. Masters, and we will carry her memory in our hearts forever.

Safely Home

I am home in Heaven, dear ones;

Oh, so happy and so bright!

There is perfect joy and beauty In this everlasting light.

All the pain and grief are over, Every restless tossing passed;

I am now at peace forever, I am safely home at last.
