Fred Jefferson Jr., born on March 27, 1970, in Shreveport, Louisiana, embarked on his final journey on November 20, 2025, in Arlington, Texas. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose presence ignited laughter and warmth in the hearts of those who knew him.
A proud graduate of Fair Park High School's Class of 1988, Fred dedicated his career to LSG Skychef, where he held the position of Superviso for ten years . His professional life reflected the same jovial spirit that colored his personal relationships; he was known for his character, humor, and a knack for dispensing loving advice. Fred was a man who thrived in the company of others, creating an atmosphere filled with joy and laughter. Those fortunate to hang out with him will remember his lighthearted banter and the boundless affection he showed towards his family and friends.
He was an avid fisherman, and one cherished memory shared by his sister speaks volumes about Fred's character: during a fishing outing together, she caught a fish and, with Fred's playful encouragement, wanted everyone to believe it was his catch. This anecdote is but a glimpse into the countless moments of joy and laughter he gifted to others.
Fred was more than just a family man; he nurtured his passions effortlessly. His love for grilling was showcased in his ownership of six grills, which served as the backdrop for many memorable gatherings. When not tending to his yard or making new projects, he delighted in the companionship of his beloved dogs, adding even more joy and light to his life.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 31 years, Carolyn, and their three daughters: Frelisha Jefferson, Lateesha Jefferson, and Catherine Sims, who marveled at their father's unwavering support and love. His granddaughter, Melody Williams, brought a radiant smile to his face, reflecting his proudest accomplishment—the family he cherished deeply. Fred also leaves behind his sisters, Renee Jefferson-Brown(Arthur), Sharon Cleveland(Mitch), and Sherry Williams(Lee Edwards), as well as his brothers, Jarvis Jefferson and Allen Hickman, alongside a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whose lives he touched.
Leaving behind the fond laughter of family gatherings and a legacy steeped in love, Fred Jefferson Jr. was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Sr. and Eldora Jefferson. He now joins them in eternal peace, and while he may be gone from this earthly realm, the memories he created and the love he shared will live on in the hearts of those he left behind.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life with a viewing on December 3, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas, located at 4155 S. R. L. Thornton Fwy, Dallas, TX. A wake service will be held on December 5, 2025, at 7:00 PM, followed by a funeral service on December 6, 2025, at 1:00 PM, both at Winnfield Funeral Home Chapel, 3701 Hollywood Avenue, Shreveport, LA.
