With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of FREDDY RODRIGUEZ CASTRO, who departed this world on July 30, 2026, in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 66. Born on July 11, 1960, in Puerto Rico, Freddy’s journey was one of deep love, enduring resilience, and unwavering devotion to family.
Freddy’s story began in the warmth of Puerto Rico, where his heart was first shaped by the nurturing embrace of his mother, Isabella Rodriguez, and the steadfast care of his extended family, including his beloved grandmother, uncle, and aunt—all now departed. The example they set in kindness and strength would become a guiding force in his life, carried with him always.
Freddy shared his life’s joys with his cherished wife, Sharon Thomas, whose companionship and steadfast support were a constant blessing. Their bond was a testament to love’s enduring power. Freddy’s circle of loved ones extended through his brothers Pedro Ramos, Robert Ramos, and Jerry Metersky—each relationship suffused with affection, humor, and unbreakable loyalty. He also leaves behind his devoted niece Jeanny Ramos, nephews Pete and Daniel Ramos, and several sisters-in-law—Olga Ramos, Mida Castroviejo, Orlinda Johnson, Sandra Johnson, and Felicia Raphel—as well as brothers-in-law Gerry Johnson, Anthony Johnson, and Kevin Oliver. Each of them carries forward memories of his laughter, his sage advice, and his enduring presence, which has touched their lives indelibly.
He was also preceded in death by his mother, Isabella Rodriguez and brother Gilbert Castroviejo, whose memory formed an integral part of Freddy’s life journey. As a brother, Freddy was the embodiment of compassion—a confidante who celebrated triumphs and comforted during trials. As an uncle, he brought warmth and joy to family gatherings, weaving connections that will endure beyond his lifetime.
Freddy’s love for family formed the foundation of his legacy. His kindness was matched only by his humility and quiet strength. To the many who knew him, he served as a pillar—reliable in times of need, generous with laughter, and honest in his words. Though his departure leaves a void, his spirit continues to live on through the stories told around kitchen tables, the hands held in moments of sorrow, and the bonds of kinship he so cherished.
Friends and family are invited to honor Freddy’s life and memory at the following services:
