GARY WAYNE STUBBLEFIELD

December 15, 1956 — May 1, 2025

Gary Wayne Stubblefield was born December 15, 1956 to Robert Stubblefield and the late Viola Burns in Tyler, Texas. He united with Pledging Ridge COGIC/Gentry Temple in Coffee City, Texas at an early age. Gary married Shelia Spigner. He departed this life on May 1, 2025.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Shelia Stubblefield, a grandson Keenan Spigner; his mother and stepfather, Authur and Viola Loftin; a brother, Stevy Beasley, grandparents, Buster and Era Stubblefield, and Percy and Rosie Burns and a host of uncles and aunts.

Gary received his education in the Tyler Independent School District, where he was active in football, basketball, and track. He was a part of the Robert E. Lee High School class of 1975. He was a dedicated person. Whatever he endeavored, he was going to give his best. He loved his family and friends. He loved to go to trail rides and to watch the Dallas Cowboys which was his favorite football team.

Gary was employed by Tyler Pipe Industries before moving to Dallas Texas. After moving to Dallas, he worked for Samuel Bemgam and then he worked for Ben E. Keith for 10 years before going to Sysco Food System where he worked for 36 years and retired. He received numerous awards from Sysco Food System for his exemplary service. He received the million miles without an accident of injury award. He was inducted into the IFDA Driver Hall of Fame.

His hobbies was buying and selling autos at the car auctions. He also liked to hang out with friends at trail rides and playing dominoes. He started trail riding at an early age in St. Louis before moving to Dallas. He was affiliated with the Real Riders Riding Club of Dallas, Texas; Just Kicking It Riding Club and he was Vice- President of 2 Cuzins Riding Club. His favorite quote was "God is Real.

Gary is survived by his daughters Katherine Hawkins (Twinkie) and Shundarlyka Lacy (Shun D); sons, ShiKendrick Spigner (Pooh), Derrick Stubblefield (Papa) and Cedrick Stubblefield (Peewee); honorary son Brandon Spigner (Bam Bam); A special daughter Eboni Spigner; his father and stepmother Robert and Shirley Stubblefield, 2 brothers Everett and Micheal Stubblefield, sisters, Sharon Jordan (Roger), Latonya Butler, Shuntae Green, Stephanie Price, and Patricia Tudman (Robert). His grandchildren Tedrick Hawkins, Todrick Hawkins, Kameran Stubblefield, Lacy Stubblefield, Derriyona Stubblefield, Cedrick Stubblefield, Jr., Ceriah Stubblefield, Chloe Stubblefield, ShiKendrick Spigner, II, Kennedi Spigner and a great grandson, Eli Stubblefield. His aunts Alice Miles (Richard), Wanda Gordon (Francisco), Margie Burns, Linda Burns and Carol Burns and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
