GEORGE ELMER BOLTON SR

September 12, 1946 — May 1, 2025

We mourn the passing of George E. Bolton, Sr. — our Husband, Father and Paw Paw. He was a kind, god-fearing man, and a beloved father and grandfather. A mighty man with a big heart, his faith, strength, and love left a lasting legacy in our family, in schools, and throughout the community. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished. George Elmer Bolton Sr. was born on September 12, 1946, in Lincolnton, Georgia. He passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of service and dedication to his community.

George was a 1964 graduate of West Charlotte Senior High School in Charlotte , N.C.

He worked in Schools Systems in Charlotte NC as an Instructor in Automotive Services at East Mecklenburg High School as well the local regional Railroad Company prior to the education job!

George later moved to Dallas, Texas to work for the PNI -Enterprise prior to begin his educational career in the Dallas, Texas Public School system where he retired! George had a distinguished career that spanned several fields. He was a retired railroad worker and also served his country as a US Air Force Veteran. In addition to his military service, he was a retired teacher who inspired countless students throughout his career. His commitment to public service was further exemplified by his role as a city councilman for the City of Desoto, where he dedicated his time and energy to improving the lives of his fellow residents. Notably, George took pride in having run for Mayor of Desoto, an endeavor that showcased his passion for civic engagement.

He is survived by his beloved spouse, Debbie Bolton, one son George Jr(Jacquelyn) and their children, Jayden, George III and Jeshua, daughter, Felicia(George Umbenhauer), daughter, Sheree, and her children Aleeia and Analicia, who will remember him not just for his accomplishments, but for his unwavering support and love throughout their lives. He also leaves behind a brother, Randy Bolton(Joyce Miller Bolton), niece Rania Bolton and nephew, Joran Bolton. George was a devoted family man who instilled values of hard work and determination in his children.

Friends and family are invited to honor his memory during the upcoming services. A viewing will be held at Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas on May 22, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The funeral service will take place on May 23, 2025, at Metro Fellowship in DeSoto, starting at 11:00 AM. He will be laid to rest at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at 2:30 PM that same day.

George Elmer Bolton Sr. will be remembered as a man of integrity and dedication, whose contributions to his community and family will leave a lasting impact.
