George Elmer Bolton Sr. was born on September 12, 1946, in Lincolnton, Georgia. He passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of service and dedication to his community.
George had a distinguished career that spanned several fields. He was a retired railroad worker and also served his country as a veteran. In addition to his military service, he was a retired teacher who inspired countless students throughout his career. His commitment to public service was further exemplified by his role as a city councilman for the City of Desoto, where he dedicated his time and energy to improving the lives of his fellow residents. Notably, George took pride in having run for Mayor of Desoto, an endeavor that showcased his passion for civic engagement.
He is survived by his beloved spouse, Debbie Bolton, and his four sons, who will remember him not just for his accomplishments, but for his unwavering support and love throughout their lives. George was a devoted family man who instilled values of hard work and determination in his children.
Friends and family are invited to honor his memory during the upcoming services. A viewing will be held at Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas on May 15, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The funeral service will take place on May 16, 2025, at Metro Fellowship in DeSoto, starting at 11:30 AM. He will be laid to rest at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at 2:30 PM that same day.
