GEORGE EDWARD DONALD

July 21, 1959 — February 20, 2026

George Edward Donald, a beloved figure whose laughter echoed through the lives of those fortunate to know him, passed away on February 20, 2026, in Plano, Texas. Born on July 21, 1959, in Pensacola, Florida, George brought his vibrant spirit and warmth into the world, leaving indelible impressions on both family and friends alike.

His journey took him through many avenues, culminating in a dedicated career as a Juvenile Detention Officer Supervisor for Dallas County and as a P.S.O with Dallas Independent School District. George was many things, but above all, he was devoted to his community, ensuring that the youth received the guidance and support they needed. His outspoken nature and unwavering loyalty made him not just a colleague, but a beacon of trust and understanding in the lives of those he worked with.

A man of great faith and was a member of the St John Baptist Church under the leadership  Bertrain Bailey, Sr.

As a family-oriented man, George’s proudest accomplishments were his sons and family. He cultivated a home filled with laughter, love, and unforgettable memories, especially relishing moments spent together during family movie nights. A devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, George found joy not only in the thrill of the game but also in the rhythm of life—a passion manifested through road trips accompanied by the nostalgia of old-school music. His love for grilling and cooking was legendary, as were his special meals prepared with care for the family's dogs, Bolo, Winter, Draco, Rudy, and the late Magic.

George's zest for life was contagious. He was the life of the party, known for his humor and his ability to draw people together. Friends and family alike witnessed his exceptional ability to make any gathering memorable with his dynamic personality, forever cementing his legacy as a figure who could elevate the spirit of any occasion.

He leaves behind his cherished wife, Ruby Donald; sons, George Edward Donald II and Reuben James Donald; goddaughters, Tyler Timberlake and Brea Daniels; granddaughter, Layla Donald; grandson, Cairo Williams; as well as his devoted sisters, Yvonne Fairley (Jerry), Louise Donald, Elaine Kendrick, Janice Reddick Smith, and Cindy Pickett (Ray); and brothers, Lawrence Donald (Debra) and Michael Brown (Anitra) and a host of nieces, nephews and other loved ones.

George now joins the ranks of his departed family, including sisters Elois Marshall and Ladean Hill; brother Council Donald; and his parents, Council Donald and Annie Bell Tillman Donald. Their reunion calls for both joy in remembrance and sorrow in absence, for though they are together again, they are missed dearly by those left behind.

The legacy of George Edward Donald will forever remain etched in the fabric of his family and community. A prayer service will honor his life on March 7, 2026, at Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas at 11:00 AM, followed by a viewing from 12:30 PM to 5:00 PM.
