George A. Suber was born on March 14, 1947, and was lovingly raised in Palestine, Texas, by Zenolia Brown Suber and Evan George Suber. Growing up in a Christian home, he accepted Christ early in life and remained a devoted servant of the Lord throughout his journey. For more than three decades, he faithfully served as a Deacon, offering his time, heart, and dedication to the ministry. George deeply loved his church family and cherished every opportunity to worship, especially Sunday mornings when he could serve during devotion and as a proud member of the Usher Board.
Those who knew him well could recite his favorite scriptures right alongside him, including: Numbers 23:19 KJV “God is not a man, that he should lie; Neither the son of man, that he should repent: Hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” and John 14:1-7 KJV “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.” Passages he held close to his heart. George was a steadfast Man of God who believed in sharing the Word at every opportunity he was given.
George was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Christene Suber, with whom he shared nearly 56 years of marriage. He was a loving father to their three children—Jeffery, Aaron, and Kimberly—and a proud grandfather to his cherished grandchildren, who brought him tremendous joy. There was no greater sound to his ears than hearing them call him, (Paw-Paw).
He was preceded in death by his brother Calvin Suber and his sisters Eva Lois Suber and Narvella Johnson. He leaves to honor his memory his sister Jeweline (Joe) Talton, brothers Howard (Velma) Suber, Wilford (Carolyn) Suber, and James (Jerry) Suber. George was also blessed with many wonderful sisters and brothers‑in‑law, all of whom he held in high regard. He adored the host of nieces and nephews he had and was grateful to be their Uncle George.
George’s life was a testament to faith, family, and service. His legacy will continue to shine through all who loved him.
