Gerry Earl Freeman, born on March 7, 1963, in Ennis, Texas, passed away on February 13, 2026, at The Jasper of Mansfield. A cherished member of his family and community, Gerry was a dedicated professional who served as an Auditor in the Tax Industry, exemplifying diligence and integrity in his career.
Educated in his hometown, Gerry graduated from Ennis High School and furthered his studies, earning a bachelor's degree, which laid the groundwork for his successful career. He was proud of his educational achievements and often shared his insights and knowledge with those around him.
Gerry was not only known for his professional life but also for his deep love of sports. An enthusiastic supporter of the Dallas Cowboys, he found joy in both watching games and discussing them with fellow fans. His passion for sports was a testament to his vibrant personality and spirit.
Gerry leaves behind a loving family, including his sisters, Monica and Marlo, and his brothers Isaiah (Shirelle) and Terrance (Trivia). Uncles, David Young and Roger Young, also an aunt, Josephine Robinson. He also cherished a host of nieces and nephews who brought him tremendous joy and pride.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother Fannie Williams, his parents Claudia Donaldson and Jerry Young, as well as his brother Richard Freeman and sister Donna Freeman. Their memories will always be an integral part of his legacy.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the viewing, which will take place on February 19, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, located at 900 South Preston Street, Ennis, TX 75119. The funeral service will follow on February 20, 2026, at 11:00 AM, also at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, providing an opportunity to honor Gerry's life and celebrate his contributions to his family and community.
Gerry Earl Freeman's impact will continue to resonate through the lives he touched, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
