Gina Yolanda Cole, a beacon of love and warmth, gracefully departed from this world on June 4, 2025, in Sunnyvale, Texas, at the age of 67. Born on November 14, 1957, in Saginaw, Michigan, Gina was a nurturing spirit whose heart always seemed to beat in time with the gentle rhythms of R&B music she loved so dearly. Her dance moves echoed the joy she spread, as she filled every room with her affections, weaving connections and deep bonds with all those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Her educational journey began at Buena Vista High School in Saginaw, MI, where her indomitable spirit set her on a path filled with achievements that spoke volumes of her character. Yet, it was not accolades that defined Gina; it was her unwavering devotion to her family which shined the brightest. Proudly, she watched her sons— Rayonte Ian McArn, Antwuan Cole (and his partner Kimberly), and Anthony Cole (with Kassyli)—flourish into remarkable individuals. To Gina, their accomplishments were the crowns she wore, testament to a lifetime dedicated to nurturing and loving them fiercely.
Gina's legacy is woven intricately through the lives of her eleven cherished grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable joy and pride. As a sister to Karen Chantaca (married to Tony), and an aunt to numerous nieces and nephews, her family extended far and wide, enriching her life with laughter and love.
Though she departed from this realm, the traces of her vibrant personality remain ever-present. Gina was the giver, always ready with an embrace or a listening ear, exemplifying what it meant to be family-oriented and affectionate. Her hobbies reveal the depths of her essence; she took pleasure in piecing together jigsaw puzzles, braiding her hair, and immersing herself in stories told through Nigerian and Western films. Each passion drew her laughter and contagious joy further into the hearts of those around her.
A viewing in honor of Gina's unforgettable spirit is scheduled for June 11, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM and wake 6:00 PM- 7:00PM at the Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas, TX. This will be followed by a heartfelt funeral service on June 12, 2025, starting at 3:00 PM, also at Golden Gate Funeral Home. Her final disposition will be cremation.
As we reflect on Gina's life, let us carry forward her joyous spirit and compassionate heart. May we dance to the rhythm of her love and generosity, holding her memory close as a profound reminder of the beauty that exists in family, friendship, and togetherness.
