Grace Ann Lewellen-Johnson was born March 8, 1941 to Conley and Luvenia Lewellen in Lamar, Mississippi. Both parents preceded her in death and two brothers: Norman and Conley Jr.
Grace was educated in the Marshall County school system. She had two sons Orlando and John that she loved very much. There was nothing that she would not do for them. Every aspiration they had, she encouraged them to be the best that they could be. She had eight siblings: Johnny B, Norman Lee, James Louis, Cora Lee and Ora Lee, Glenda, Shirley & Michelle Lewellen. She helped raise her younger siblings. She was such an inspiration in their lives.
Grace was employed with General Motors for many years until her health fail her. She also went to school for nursing and cosmetology. “Ann” as she was affectionately called, earned a degree in theology from the Faith Tech Bible School in Flint, Michigan. She was the greatest cook, she loved helping and sharing with others. Her family loved her Baked Chicken, Fried Fish, Chitterlings, Cornbread and Collard Greens. We called her the food hustler. She always had plenty of food and sweets for the grandchildren and her nieces and nephews. The loves of her life were "Books, Books and more Books." She loved studying and taking notes as she watched Bishop T. D. Jakes, Pastor Kenneth Hagin, Pastor Kenneth Copeland and many more TV personalities. She loved the Lord and was a member of North Star Missionary Baptist Church
After being cared for by her eldest son Orlando Lewellen and daughter-In-Law, LaRose Lewellen for many years, on Thursday, May 6, 2021, she made her transition to go to a better place, from labor to reward.
