GWENDOLYN MARIE YOUNG," Puerto Rican Marie"  a vibrant spirit whose laughter filled every room, departed this world on August 25, 2025, in Dallas, Texas. Born on October 13, 1993, she captivated the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her with a unique blend of humor, goofiness, and unyielding love. Gwendolyn lived life like a true “SOUR PATCH KID”—sweet, funny, and occasionally a touch stubborn, always managing to brighten the days of everyone around her.

Her passions were as profound as they were joyful; Gwendolyn embraced the art of cooking, enchanting family and friends with her culinary creations. She reveled in the embrace of nature, finding solace in fishing and exercising, all while cherishing the fun and joy that came from being surrounded by her cherished family. Gwendolyn held a special bond with animals, reveling in their companionship, and this nurturing spirit transcended into her role as a loving mother, where she shined the brightest.  She also loved to sing.

Gwendolyn’s greatest pride stemmed from her children: Jaden, Christopher Jr., Kensley, Ava, Arrington, and Emberlyn. They were her treasures, her legacy, and her purpose. Each moment spent with them was marked by laughter as they created memories full of warmth and love. She poured her heart into her role as a mother, guiding and nurturing her children with fierce devotion.

In addition to being a loving mother, Gwendolyn pursued her dreams with determination, proudly achieving the title of phlebotomist. Her dedication to helping others mirrored her deep-rooted compassion and natural care for those around her.

She leaves behind her beloved partner, Tarrington Joiner, and a loving family that includes her parents, Clyde and Paula Johnson; her brothers Harold, Christopher, Calah, and Wendel; her sisters Cami, Alexis, Amiya, Rosalind, and Tejia. Together, they carry forward the warmth and love she instilled in each of them.

The celebration of Gwendolyn's remarkable life will commence with a viewing on September 12, 2025, at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a Wake Service at the same location from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The final farewell will take place at the House of Prayer Word Outreach in Dallas on September 13, 2025, at 11:00 AM, as her family and friends join together to honor a life well-lived and a spirit that will forever shine brightly in their hearts.

Gwendolyn Marie Young may have left this earthly realm, but her essence—funny, loving, and unapologetically herself—will live on in the laughter of her children, the stories shared among family, and the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. As they navigate the world without her, they will carry her memory as a beacon of love and joy, forever engraved in their lives.
