HENREATTA SAMPY

December 16, 1929 — April 22, 2018

Henreatta Jones Sampy was born in Haughton, LA on December 16, 1929.  She had survived her parents, Eunice and Bertha Jones, brothers, Hurley and Eunice Jones and sister Ida Smith.  Also, her son, George Phillip Jones and grandson, Rodney Scott Jones.  Henreatta left this physical body early Sunday morning, April 22, 2018. Henreatta Sampy received Christ as her personal saviour and was baptized at an early age.  She mastered many things in her lifetime.  She was an excellent cook and baker.  She was very familiar with politics and her community.  Whenever she had a problem, she wrote to higher authorities including the President, Mayor and Senators, and they complied.  She was “the lawyer”, “the judge” and “the jury” and she had a way of getting things done.  She will be missed by all who knew her and will continue to touch lives. She is survived by her daughter, Bertha “Faye” McClendon and son, Norman Dwight Jones, three grandchildren; Tamela Godfrey (Garland), Darrick McClendon (Laquitha), and Lakeisha Frazier, thirteen great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.  Brother; Nathan Jones (Jean), sisters; Ethel Blair, Ruthie McClellan, Eula Kemp and many loving relatives and friends.
