MR HOLLIE KELLY JR

Mr. Hollie Kelly Jr., a devoted family man, respected employee, and loyal friend, passed away on May 10, 2025, in Dallas, Texas. He was born on April 30, 1946, in Palestine, Texas, and lived a life marked by love, generosity, and a steadfast commitment to helping others.

Hollie dedicated over 40 years of service as a supervisor at Carroll Chemical Company in Garland, Texas. He was known not only for his hard work and leadership but also for his ability to connect with those around him. His warm spirit, kindness, and willingness to lend a hand left a lasting impact on his colleagues and friends alike.

Outside of work, Hollie cherished spending time with his beloved family, whom he considered his greatest accomplishment. He deeply loved his current wife, Dorothy Kelly, and together they built forty-five years of life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Hollie was an avid sports fan and had a passion for riding. He also found joy and relaxation in watching Westerns, which reflected his adventurous and spirited nature.

Hollie was preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Joyce Kelly; his nephew, Reginald Oneal Kelley; his parents, Lula Mae Barrett and Hollie Kelly Sr.; special mom, Beulah Kelly; grandparents, George Clark Kelley and Hester Mae Kelley; and his siblings: William Earl Davis, Sammy Davis, Raydell Kelley, George Kelley, Glenn Kelley, Vanessa Montgomery, and Patricia Barrett.

He leaves behind a loving legacy through his children: LaShonda Givens, Velma Givens, Hollie Maurice Kelly, Vickie Ramsey, Paul Kennard Kelly, Tanya Kelly Kirk, Cedrique Kelly, Krystal Cain, and Jeremiah Kelly.

He is also survived by his siblings: Ocie Mae Kelley, Linda Kelley, D'Arthur Davis, Neita Faye Kelley, Cornelius Charles Kelley, and Frederick O’Neal Kelley.

Hollie was a proud grandfather to Darrell, Deon, Denrick, Teleila, Derrick, Lonnell Kelley, Mauricia Kelley, Ronnie Clifton, Hollie Kelley IV, D’arra Kelly, Farrah Joyce Kelly, Jessica Coss (Gary), Jesse Ramsey Jr., Sarrita Kelly, Cameron S. Kelly, Callie and Kaleb Cain, Brooklyn and Broderick Kelly.

His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren: Cordai De’Rise Epting, Cameron Kelley, Landon Kelley, Faniyah Thomas, Sedrick Thomas III, Joshua Thomas, Madison C’Arra Kelly,D’Arra Djuan Kelly, Londyn Clifton, Isaiah Jordan Kelly, Ronnie Clifton Jr., Camille Ramsey, and Layauna Clifton.

Hollie also leaves behind special nieces Renetta Kelly, Randal Kelly, and Alice Kelly, along with numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

As we remember Mr. Hollie Kelly Jr., let us celebrate the impact he made, the love he shared, and the example he set. His presence in our lives was a gift, and his memory will forever remain in our hearts.

Family and friends are invited to honor his memory during a Wake Service on May 22, 2025, at 6:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service on May 23, 2025, at 3:00 PM. Both services will be held at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas, located at 4155 South R. L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX, 75224.
