IMARI SHANIYA LYNN WATTS
October 22, 2000 – June 1, 2026
Born in Detroit, Michigan, Imari Shaniya Lynn Watts was a radiant spirit whose energy could command any room she entered. From the very beginning, Imari’s life was a brilliant tapestry of determination and joy, weaving a narrative marked by her boundless kindness, consistent resolve, and a vibrant sense of humor that made every moment with her unforgettable.
Imari’s journey was one of passion and perseverance. She was a girly girl with a unique charm, delighting in the simple pleasures of life—whether immersing herself in the laughter of comedy shows or expressing her creative soul through drawing. Her determination shone brightly in one of her proudest accomplishments: earning her driver’s license. She worked tirelessly, not just to reach that goal but to transcend every challenge with quiet strength and devotion. Imari was also deeply committed to her education and future, proudly attending Dallas Community College with aspirations to serve others as a social worker—a testament to her compassionate heart and unwavering resolve to make a difference in the world.
Her presence was magnetic and lively; there was never a dull moment when Imari was near. Energetic and funny, yet deeply kind, she carried herself with a consistency that inspired those around her. Whether sharing a laugh or standing steadfast amidst life’s trials, Imari exemplified a spirit that was equal parts fierce and tender.
This vibrant soul left us too soon, departing from Dallas, Texas, where she made her mark on those fortunate enough to know her. The days follow now with a quietness that echoes the laughter and light she brought into the lives she touched. Her story reminds us of the preciousness of every heartbeat, every determination, every smile.
A prayer service to honor Imari’s memory will be held on June 18, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas. Her funeral service will follow on June 19, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the same location—4155 S R. L. Thornton Fwy, Dallas, TX 75224.
Imari Shaniya Lynn Watts leaves behind echoes of laughter, kindness, and fierce determination. We hold her memory close, a vivid flame that illuminates the lives she graced, forever inspiring us to live fully, with heart and humor just as she did.
