In the vibrant heart of Dallas, a bright star was born, and the world welcomed Jackie Denard Jernigan on August 22, 2004. From the outset, Jackie illuminated the lives of all who crossed his path with a bubbly personality that could lift spirits and a smile that could brighten even the stormiest of days.
Jackie was more than just a multi-sport athlete; he was a joyful force of nature, embracing life with a fervor that resonated deeply with friends and family alike. Whether on the football field or the basketball court, where his skills shone through their dedication or in everyday moments rich with laughter and camaraderie, Jackie was a unique blend of humor and vivacity. He played and lived fearlessly, with supreme confidence. He had an exceptional ability to bring people together, his outgoing nature creating friendships that flourished easily in his presence.
But alas, on February 13, 2026, the world lost a playful spirit and a channel of light when Jackie left us far too soon. This vibrant soul's departure is a poignant reminder of the fleeting beauty of life, and those left behind are forever changed by the love and joy Jackie shared so generously.
Jackie's memorial service will be held at the Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas, on February 26, 2026, beginning at 1:00 PM and culminating at 2:00 PM—a tribute fitting for a soul that danced so wonderfully through life. As friends and family gather to celebrate him, they will be reminded of Jackie’s unwavering spirit, his laughter echoing in their hearts, and his resilience lighting their path forward.
As we remember Jackie Jernigan, let us celebrate the whirlwind of laughter, the bonds of friendship, and the determination that marked their journey—a legacy that will remain etched in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
