James Weldon Chadwick was born on July 31, 1947 in Panola County, Texas to the late Howard Leon Chadwick and Eunice Gray Chadwick. Although his first name was James, everyone always called him Chad.
Chad graduated from Turner High School in 1965, where he was a star on the basketball team. He remained a fiercely proud Bobcat throughout his life. Chad was an Army veteran of the United States Armed Forces, where he was stationed in Germany in 1965. During his adult years he was employed at Tom Thumb as a meat market manager, and he retired after 30 plus years.
Chad married the love of his life, Alice Faye Allison Chadwick on February 14, 1998. He had the most amazing sense of humor and his gift to the world was his abundant charisma and the way he made everyone around him laugh and always feel special.
Chad was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Eunice Chadwick, his brother Leon Chadwick, and his sisters, Mildred Chadwick Pellum, Norma Jean Chadwick Tatum and Judith Ann Chadwick Marry.
Chad leaves behind to forever cherish his memory: His beloved wife of 22 years, Alice Chadwick; daughters Rhobia Coble of Dallas and Omeshi “Mimi” (Aaron) Roberts of Dallas, sons Jason (Jacinta) Edson of Colorado, Lapatrick “Ken” Allison and Alex Owens of Dallas; six adoring grandchildren: Holly, Hollis, Isaiah, Olivia, Addison, Bentley, Mathan, and Mekhi; two sisters Alta Hatcher and Jess Benson; the entire Allison family; and countless relatives and friends.
