James Garfield Clark, Sr was born on April 26, 1958 to the parentage of James Lee Clark and Yvonne Mildred Clark. James attended Jesuit College Preparatory and Hillcrest High schools, both in Dallas, Texas. He graduated from Jarvis Christian College in Hawkins, Texas where he affiliated with the Theta Alpha Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. Inc.
James worked with Atlantic Richfield Company, was an educator in Dallas ISD, and lastly served as an integral figure in the operations of Public Opinion election Campaign Services.
James was married to Viola Hawley and to this union had two children, a son James Clark Jr. and a daughter Raven Clark. He accepted Christ at an early age and has been a faithful life-long member of Warren Avenue Christian Church. He served as a deacon, coordinator of the Men’s Disciple Breakfast, Sunday school superintendent and wore many other hats as well. James devoted his life to family, Church and his love for cooking and creating new dishes to share. His smile, jokes, and caring attitude will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
On Monday June 8, 2020, James entered eternal rest. He was preceded in Death by his beloved mother Yvonne M. Clark, father James Lee Clark, and sister Mamie Henry. He leaves to cherish his memory a son James Garfield Clark Jr (Sanedra), a daughter Raven Simone Clark, two sisters Dr. Veurmer Clark Edwards and Ramena Chantel Walker (Jerry), nieces Cecily, Courtney and Tonya, and nephews Blair, Broderick and Ramil, as well as a host of friends and Fraternity brothers.
