James McBride Jr., a devoted father, proud grandfather, and cherished partner, passed away suddenly, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to his family.
James is survived by his long-time partner, Jacqueline; his beloved children, Jasmine and James; and his treasured grandchildren, Prince, Nola, and Logan, who brought immense joy and purpose to his life. He is also survived by his dear siblings: Bill, Susie, Patty, and Denise.
He now reunites in heaven with his loving parents and siblings, & nephews whose memory he always carried in his heart and often spoke of with warmth and hope.
A proud veteran, James served in the United States Army with honor and integrity. His deep pride in his service to this country was matched only by his pride in his family. A man of God and a faithful Catholic, James lived his life rooted in faith, love, and laughter.
He found joy in the everyday moments — from telling the goofiest jokes to his grandchildren, to cooking home-cooked meals that filled the house with comfort. A lifelong sports enthusiast, James could be found cheering on teams from college football to the NFL, NBA, MLB, and even hockey. He rarely missed a game and always had a lively opinion to share.
James was happiest at home, surrounded by the people he loved. Whether it was movie nights, wrestling matches on TV, or just sitting around sharing stories, his presence brought warmth, humor, and a sense of belonging to every room he entered. A scholar of the leaf, a poet of the pint — indulging in style only he could make look so effortless."
He will be remembered as a man who truly lived for his family — a man who gave his all to those he loved and who, in return, was deeply loved by all who knew him.
Though our hearts are heavy with his absence, we take comfort in knowing James spent his final years full of joy, love, and laughter — exactly the way he would have wanted.
James, we love you. We miss you more than words can ever express. You will live on in our hearts, our memories, and in every moment we gather together as a family.
Until we meet again, fly high and rest easy.
