James Lawrence Watkins was born in Louisville, KY to the union of Willie T. & Ernestine Ellison Watkins.
He married the love of his life, Carrie L. Webster on August 25, 1961; they raised three children, Kevin Brenard, Eric Kenton and Kimberly Dawn.
