JERRY DEE JOHNSON, a cherished soul born on June 30, 1958, left this world on July 7, 2025. His journey, much like the winding roads he loved to traverse in his beloved 18 wheeler, was one of quiet strength, gentle laughter, and heartfelt connections.
Throughout his life, Jerry embraced the beauty of simplicity. He was a kind and welcoming spirit, often described as quiet yet very honest, whose warmth was felt by those privileged enough to cross his path. His most fervent joy derived from moments spent with his son, who stood as a testament to his unwavering love and dedication—a proud accomplishment that filled his heart with immeasurable pride.
Jerry's adventures took him beyond the realms of fatherhood. He served his country honorably in the United States Army for three years, an experience that infused him with discipline and resilience. After his military service, Jerry found solace in the small treasures of life, indulging in his passion for collecting belt buckles and souvenirs from every state he visited, relishing the stories each piece carried—a reflection of his wanderlust and the manifold moments he cherished.
Friends and family will gather to remember and celebrate his legacy in a series of heartfelt ceremonies. The viewing will take place on July 17, 2025, from noon to 7 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas. The following day, July 18, from 11 AM to noon, a funeral service will honor his life at the same location. Afterward, he will be laid to rest at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at 1 PM.
As we reflect on Jerry Dee Johnson’s life, let us carry forward his kindness and warmth. The world has dimmed with his passing, but his spirit—a gentle whisper of love and laughter—echoes in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
