JERRY WALTER MCKNIGHT
With deep respect and heartfelt remembrance, we honor the life of Jerry Walter McKnight, who passed away on May 14, 2026, in Dallas, Texas. Born on July 21, 1947, in San Benito, Texas, Jerry lived a full and meaningful life, marked by dedication, joy, and an enduring kindness that touched all who knew him.
Jerry’s professional life was distinguished by his steadfast commitment to his work. He began his career as an RSR at a metal refinery, displaying a strong work ethic and reliability. Beyond his career, Jerry was a man of warmth and humor. Always equipped with a joke and a smile, he was known for his beautiful heart and generous spirit. His personality lit up any room, creating a welcoming and joyful atmosphere for family and friends alike. He was a devoted football fan, enthusiastically supporting the Redskins and Commanders throughout his life—with a lighthearted rule against Cowboys fans, despite being married to one.
Jerry’s love for his community was evident in his role as a Little League football coach for the Oak Cliff Bears, where he imparted not only skills but values of teamwork and perseverance to the young players he mentored.
He is lovingly survived by his devoted spouse, Viola McKnight; his children, Richard Don Bradley, Jerry Wesley McKnight, and Raquel McKnight; along with six cherished grandchildren—Joshua, Jazmyn, Devarean, Dominique, Zoe, and Morgan—and five great-grandchildren, Jordan, Jiana, Nyla, Laylah, and Fiji. Their lives were enriched immeasurably by Jerry’s love and guidance.
Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Mandy Anderson, and siblings Archie, Recia, Johnny, Ellen, and Jameson. Their memories remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
