Jessica Lenay Reed, a vibrant spirit whose warmth and strength illuminated the lives she touched, was born on November 12, 1985, in the heart of Dallas, Texas. Surrounded by the rich culture and vibrant community of her hometown, Jessica grew into a woman known for her resilience, courage, and commitment to uplifting those around her.
A proud graduate of Duncanville High School's Class of 2005, Jessica’s journey through life was marked not only by her tenacity but by the deep love she held for her children, Daemar Jenkins and Deaira McGilbra. They were, without a doubt, her proudest accomplishments, each a testament to her dedication and nurturing spirit. In every endeavor, Jessica infused a distinctive flair, one that stemmed from her keen sense of fashion and her relentless passion for self-expression. She taught herself the artistry of hair and nails, transforming her creative impulses into craft that allowed others to shine.
Beyond her artistic endeavors, Jessica was a passionate supporter of sickle cell awareness, standing boldly in the face of adversity—a reflection of her outspoken nature. She was an advocate, a voice for the voiceless, ensuring that concerns about health issues were heard louder and clearer. Her concern for others resonated deeply within her community, as did her unyielding faith—Jessica loved the Lord, and that love guided her every action.
Jessica’s indomitable spirit shone brightly, whether she was captured in moments of reading and journaling, or enchanting her friends and family with her sassy, fearless personality. She had a remarkable ability to connect with others, to see beyond the surface, to care genuinely, and to help with heart.
As we remember Jessica, we acknowledge that her journey took an unexpected turn when she departed this world on November 11, 2025, in Irving, Texas. Though her physical presence has left us, her legacy of love, advocacy, and unwavering spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Her reflection will be honored during a wake service on November 28, 2025, 6pm-7pm at Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas, and a funeral service on November 29, 11:00 am at same location. Each gathering will serve as a poignant reminder of the remarkable life she lived and the profound impact she made.
Jessica Lenay Reed is survived by the memory of her love, her strength, and the unwavering light she brought into the world. She will be profoundly missed yet forever celebrated in the hearts of those she touched.
