JOAN HAYDEN

Joan Hayden was born on April 12, 1939 in New Orleans, LA to the late Yvonne Rainey and Freddie Bridges. She grew up in New Orleans, LA Six Ward and was the eldest of fourteen children. Joan Moved to Texas due to the hurricane (Katrina) that destroyed her hometown of New Orleans in August of 2005. She was married to Jimmie Hayden in which she had two sons, Jerome and Tyrone and a daughter, Maureen.

Her passion was assisting those in need via her nursing skills as a CNA in which provided the security financially to raise her three kids. Her spiritual devotion to serving God made a change in her life at a very early age 21 in which she continued throughout her life until she was summoned home. A faithful devoted servant of the Lord. She was the pastor and proprietor of her church “Prevailing Faith Church” which was lost during the storm Hurricane Katrina.

Joan was preceded in death by daughter, Maureen Boykins;

mom, Freddie Bridges; father, Welton Bridges; sisters, Jeanette Bridges, Yvonne Rainey, Katie Bridges, Clover Clayton and Linda Bridges; brothers, Wilburt Parker and Terry Parker.

She leaves to celebrate her life: her sons, Jerome and Tyrone; two grandchildren she help raise, William Boy and Knishawa Boykins; daughters-in-law, Larhon Hayden and Inez Hayden; sisters, Diana, Lorraine and Barbara; brother, Foley; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nephews ; two devoted friends, Sis. Deborah and Sis. Walter.
