Joe Melvin Jackson was born on March 13, 1948 in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born to the parents of Emma Lou Forrest and Y.D. Jackson. He accepted Jesus Christ at an early age at Greater Friendship Baptist Church. Later, as an adult he moved his membership to Greater St. Stephen First Baptist Church.
Joe was married in Holy Matrimony to Jewelene Everson for fifty-two years. This marriage was blessed with three beautiful daughters Camille Latrice Krakue, Chantel Renee Redwine and Josette Yvonne Jackson, Joe Melvin Jackson was a devoted husband and father. He spent his career as a construction worker and he worked hard every day to provide for his family. He overcame many obstacles and always let his wife and daughters know he loved them very much. He was an active father with his children and often other children in the neighborhood. He was active with his daughters as he enjoyed taking them to the Botanical Water Gardens, feeding the ducks, and whenever Texas got snow, he would participate in snow fights with the family.
Joe was a man of small stature as his nick name was "Pee Wee" among his peers and former construction coworkers. He had a big heart with kindness and love. Joe loved to makes jokes and make you laugh. Although, sometimes he wasn't trying to be funny, he was just "Naturally Funny". He will certainly be missed as a caring husband, father, uncle and friend to our family and friends.
