John Wayne Dears Jr., a cheerful and playful soul who had the remarkable ability to brighten any room he entered, passed away on January 19, 2024. Born on October 24, 2000, in Dallas, Texas, John was a beloved son, brother, grandson, and friend.

From an early age, it was clear that John possessed a contagious joy that radiated in everything he did. His infectious laughter and playful spirit were a constant source of happiness for those around him. Whether cracking jokes or engaging in lighthearted banter, John had an uncanny knack for bringing smiles to the faces of everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.

Throughout his life journey, John was blessed with a loving and supportive family. His mother Shemika Thompson and father John Dears Sr. (Leah) showered him with unwavering love and encouragement. His siblings Jatalia Dears, Raven Thompson, Karter Steen, Sha'ron Jones, Monyae Jones, Renard Jones, and Jeremiah Jones were not just siblings but also his closest confidants and companions.  He also cherished the memories he shared with his grandmothers Patricia Jernigan (Curtis), Sharon Broadnax and grandfather Billy Thompson who all provided guidance and wisdom throughout John's life. He is also survived by his niece Amora Morris, uncles Billy Thompson Jr. (Joy) and Charles Dears Jr. (Krishetta), aunt Stacy Rivers (Cornell), great- aunt Tamie Moody and a host of cousins and friends.

John's deep-rooted bond with his family extended beyond his immediate circle. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Charles Dears Sr., his great-grandmother Dorothy Franks, great-grandfather Cal Franks, great-aunt Mary Crawford, great-uncles Rickey Franks and Larry Franks.

Beyond his magnetic personality and close-knit family ties, John had a zest for life that was truly inspiring. He embraced every moment with enthusiasm and lived each day to its fullest. John had a natural talent for connecting with people from all walks of life. His ability to make others feel valued and heard allowed him to make lasting friendships wherever he went. Those who were fortunate enough to call him a friend cherished the genuine and unwavering support he provided in both good times and bad.

In addition to his magnetic personality, John possessed an unwavering dedication to helping others. He had a kind and compassionate heart, always willing to lend a helping hand or offer a listening ear. His selflessness touched the lives of many and served as a shining example of the impact one individual can make in the world.

John Wayne Dears Jr. will forever be remembered for his playful spirit, infectious joy, and unwavering love for his family and friends. Though he may no longer be with us, his legacy of kindness, laughter, and love will continue to inspire all those who were lucky enough to have known him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
