John Christopher Reagan’s adventure in life came to its conclusion on August 22, 2026, in Richardson, Texas, leaving behind a lifetime of stories and memories as memorable as he was himself. Born October 25, 1954, in El Paso, Texas, John spent 71 years doing things largely his own way, preferably with a little excitement, a lot of laughter, and absolutely no shortage of personality.

John attended Lake Highlands High School and graduated with the Class of 1972. From an early age, it was clear that a quiet, predictable life was probably never going to be his thing. He was fun, carefree, outgoing, and often the life of the party. A bit of a daredevil with a knack for finding adventure, John believed life was meant to be lived, not merely watched from the sidelines.

By trade, John was a talented carpenter and craftsman. He could take a piece of wood and turn it into something worth admiring, proving that while he may have enjoyed living on the edge, he also knew his way around a measuring tape. His furniture and woodwork remain as lasting reminders of his creativity, skill, and the pride he took in a job well done.

One of John’s greatest joys was building the family lake house at Caddo Lake alongside his father, Colonel John Reagan. It was a project that brought together his love of craftsmanship, the outdoors, and time spent at the lake, creating a place filled with stories and memories that would last long after the last board was nailed into place.

John had plenty of hobbies to keep life interesting. He was a devoted NASCAR fan and enjoyed motorcycles, remote-control cars, boating, and spending time at the lake. He also enjoyed cooking and was especially known for his steaks, because apparently mastering one craft wasn’t enough.

John is survived by his daughters, Amanda Yanez (Johnny) and Kendra Reagan (Lance Wynn); his grandchildren, Cooper Reagan, Arianna Yanez, Tre Yanez, Christopher Wynn, Lincoln Wynn, and Vivian Wynn; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is also survived by his siblings, Heather Renshaw (Rob), Ginny Reyes (Tony), Margaret Clench (Barry), and Brenda Longoria (Joe), along with many others who have a story, a laugh, or perhaps a “you won’t believe what John did” memory to share.

John was preceded in death by his father, Colonel John Reagan; his son, Christopher Reagan; and his mother, Heather Reagan.

John leaves behind a lifetime of stories, plenty of laughter, and the kind of memories that tend to get better with every retelling. He was one of a kind, rarely boring, and always unapologetically himself. Those who knew him are encouraged to remember the good times, share the funny stories, and perhaps leave out just enough details to keep everyone wondering.

A small gathering to celebrate John’s life will be held at a later date. Details will be shared with those who wish to join in remembering him. In the meantime, his family welcomes photos and stories from anyone who has a favorite memory of John. The funnier, more adventurous, and more memorable, the better.

Though John’s journey here has come to an end, we’re certain he’s already finding a way to make his next adventure interesting.
