Johnny Harold Robinson, Sr. was born to Onelar Goode and Norman Robinson on Dec. 21, 1942 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School and attended Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Georgia. In 1978, he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Southern University at New Orleans while researching cancer into the 1980s. He worked at Touro Hospital for 40 years in New Orleans where he met and married the love of his life Mary Louise Watson.
Johnny accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. He attended Franklin Avenue Baptist Church in New Orleans where he served on the Deacon Board. He was an avid bible reader and had an excellent understanding of God's Word. In his spare time, he enjoyed photography. He photographed weddings, birthday parties, graduations, retirement celebrations, and any occasion requested. He is remembered for a signature move he would use to get a smile; give the subject a rose and exuberantly articulate, "Money Honey!!"
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Onelar Goode and Norman Robinson; sister Willie Mae Payne. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Robinson; one brother, Herman Walter Woods; two sisters, Wilmarie Chew Smith and Valerie Jacobs; two sons, Sky Sibley (Lisa) and Johnny Jr.; grandchildren, Shane Sibley, Courtney and Christyn Jase, Faraji, Malik, Johnny III, and Kayla Robinson; great granddaughter, Paisley Kyle-Robinson; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
