Josh McClendon III, a cherished father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, passed away on May 29, 2026. Born on December 9, 1959, Josh lived a life marked by vibrant energy, genuine warmth, and deep commitment to his loved ones and community.
A proud graduate of the Coolidge Independent School District, Josh’s academic journey continued at Paul Quinn College, where he distinguished himself as a dedicated student. His spirit of brotherhood was reflected through his active membership in the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, an affiliation he wore with pride and which shaped much of his life’s purpose and friendships.
Josh was well known for his vivacious personality and outgoing nature. He delighted in driving fast cars, a passion that brought him joy and a sense of freedom. In addition to his love for adventurous driving, Josh was an excellent cook, crafting meals that brought family and friends together, nurturing bonds over shared tables and stories.
His family remembers him not only for his talents and interests but as a devoted patriarch and beloved cornerstone of his family network. His legacy lives on through the generations he lovingly supported and through the many lives he touched with his kindness and convivial spirit.
Visitation to honor Josh’s memory will be held on June 5, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas, located at 4155 S R. L. Thornton Fwy, Dallas, TX 75224. The funeral service will follow the next day, June 6, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Primitive Baptist Church, situated at 606 Bell Street in Coolidge, TX 76635, where family and friends will gather to celebrate his life.
Josh McClendon III’s passing is a profound loss to all who knew him. His vivid personality, loving heart, and steadfast presence will be deeply missed but joyfully remembered.
