KAILA CASTEEL

Everyone’s favorite freckled-faced jokester, Kaila Casteel, 42, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on July 8, 2022. She was born in Dallas, Texas on June 13, 1980, to Linda (Jones) Casteel and James Earl Casteel.

To know Kaila, is to know, that her love language was “roasting” her family and friends whenever possible! Her beautiful smile and constant laughter (often at your expense) was sure to light up a room and you couldn’t help but join in on the fun (again often at your own expense). But what many people didn’t know is that Kaila was a sensitive soul who loved deeply, and we can only imagine how being a Gemini and middle child she navigated all those emotions, but she did.

We will truly miss our slide sandal, oversized shirt and short wearing family member and friend; and we know everyone can agree that this world will not be the same without her presence, especially in the little piece of Oak Cliff she called home.

Although Kaila had a lot of life left to live, we take comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with her brother, James Casteel II, who passed suddenly in 2018, and the family and friends she loved and lost along the way.

Kaila is survived by her parents Linda Casteel and James Casteel; sister Shaterri Casteel; sister-in-law Stacy Casteel; nieces Semaj and Alex Casteel and so many other people who called her friend, niece, cousin, neighbor, and coworker.
