On October 10, 2025, we welcomed Karlayah into this world, a brief yet profound moment that resonated deeply in our hearts. Had she graced us longer, she would have shared her birthday with her beloved great, great, great grandmother, Bessie Cyrus, who lovingly watches over her now.
Karlayah was a precious and beautiful gift from our Heavenly Father, returning to the loving embrace of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her spirit, though short-lived, shone brightly and has left an indelible mark on all who knew of her.
She will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Zamaria Nicol Pride; grandmother, Carolyn V. Pride; and her brother, Xavier L. Pride. Alongside them are her devoted aunt, Imani J. Scott, as well as her great-grandparents, Alton and Nicol (Pride) Young, and her great-great-grandmother, Billie K. Armstrong.
Karlayah is preceded in death by her great-great-grandparents, Lorenzo and Carolyn A. Pride, but her legacy continues through a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and relatives who will cherish her memory forever.
Though her time with us was fleeting, the love she brought into our lives will endure perpetually, reminding us of the beauty of family and faith. Rest in peace, dear Karlayah; you will always be in our hearts.
