Lajuan Jean Burns

January 6, 1961 – December 14, 2019

Lajuan Jean Burns, 58, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2019, with family by her side. She was born to Charles McCuren and the late Alma McCuren, on January 6, 1961. Lajuan graduated from Pascal High School in 1979 and later took the lead in the hospitality management field, working for Mira Vista Country Club, Holiday Inn, and Madea’s Down Home Cooking. She enjoyed a long career of housekeeping as well as physical therapy.

She married Eddie Burns, Sr., in 1980, and gifted the world two handsome boys, Cory and Eddie Burns, Jr. (known as “EB”).

Lajuan loved to love! She was a loving daughter, devoted mother and dear sister. She treasured her role as a grandmother and embraced every moment with her only grandchild, Evyn Burns.

Lajuan never met a stranger. As a dear friend and wonderful neighbor, she made everyone feel welcomed. She was always willing to give a helping hand to anyone in need. Her kindness and thoughtfulness to others will forever be missed. Her life was a living example of the Bible Verse: Ephesians 4:32: “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”

She is survived by her father Charles McCuren (late Mother Alma McCuren); Sons Cory Burns and Eddie Burns, Jr.; Grandchild Evyn Burns; Daughter-in-law Mikki Burns; Brother Scott McCuren; Sisters Charla Brown and Tracy Brown; Nieces Nyia and Briana McCuren; Nephews Demetrius Brown and DeShun Brown; Aunts Mary Johnson, Nelson Jackson, and Velma Gibbs; and a host of beautiful family members and friends.
