LAKEITHYA BROWN, a beloved cook at DISD and an exceptionally vibrant individual, passed away on December 21, 2025, in her lifelong hometown of Dallas, Texas. Born on July 3, 1981, Lakeithya touched the lives of many with her infectious laughter, loving nature, and generous spirit.
During her career, Lakeithya dedicated herself to the joy of cooking, bringing warmth and nourishment to countless students at the Dallas Independent School District. Her colleagues and the community will remember her not only for her culinary skills but for her unwavering ability to uplift those around her through her humor and kindness.
Lakeithya had a laid-back approach to life that made her a cherished friend and family member. She was known for her fun-loving disposition and a penchant for sharing joy with everyone she encountered. A true homebody at heart, she found pleasure in simple moments spent with loved ones, always looking for opportunities to bring smiles and laughter into their lives.
Beyond her culinary talents, Lakeithya was passionate about music, particularly neo-soul and blues, which often provided the soundtrack to her life. She indulged in reading, finding solace and adventure within the pages of her favorite books, and her remarkable sense of fashion earned her the affectionate title of "fashionista" among friends and family.
Lakeithya's proudest accomplishment was undoubtedly her family, who held a special place in her heart. She poured her love into her relationships, fostering a supportive and nurturing environment that will forever resonate with all who knew her.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on December 30, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home, located at 4155 S R. L. Thornton Fwy, Dallas, TX 75224. A funeral service will follow on December 31, 2025, at 11:00 AM, also held at Golden Gate Funeral Home.
