LAKENDRA RENEE WILBURN

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lakendra Renee Wilburn, born on July 16, 1987, in Dallas, Texas, and who departed from this life on March 2, 2026, also in Dallas.

Lakendra was a radiant soul whose warmth touched all who knew her. She was known for her infectious smile that could light up any room and her deep affection for simple joys—M&M’s candy, giving heartfelt hugs, sitting peacefully on the porch, and taking car rides while gazing out the window, absorbing the world around her. These cherished moments were a reflection of her gentle spirit and her love for life.

Music was a vital part of Lakendra’s heart, spanning all kinds of melodies. Yet, rock and roll held a special place as her favorite genre, setting the rhythm that often echoed through her daily moments and brought her immense pleasure.

Above all, Lakendra was immensely proud of her family. The bonds she shared, particularly the unwavering love and admiration she had for her grandparents and her dear brother Craig, whom she held closest to her heart, were her greatest treasures and sources of pride.

Her life will be lovingly celebrated on March 26, 2026, starting at 1:00pm at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas, located at 4155 S R. L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75224. She will be peacefully laid to rest at Lincoln Cemetery following her funeral service. It is there that friends, family, and all whose lives she graced will gather to honor her memory and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.

Though Lakendra’s journey has ended, the warmth of her smile, the kindness of her hugs, and the love within her heart will forever remain. She will be deeply missed but eternally cherished by all who had the privilege to know her.
