A proud graduate of both the University of Illinois in Chicago and Regis College in Denver, Colorado, Laverne earned her degrees in Fine Arts and Business Administration. Her dedication to education extended beyond her own studies; she possessed a deep passion for learning and cherished the opportunity to share knowledge with others. Her academic pursuits culminated in her proudest achievements, including a successful Black History presentation that garnered special accommodation from the Mayor of Texarkana, Texas.

Laverne’s professional life was equally illustrious. She dedicated herself to the Small Business Administration, using her expertise to support local entrepreneurs. As a real estate agent, she helped countless families find their dream homes, always willing to lend her assistance to those in need. Her ability to connect with others made her invaluable in both her career and personal life.

She found joy in going to the theater, exploring new languages like French, and immersing herself in the pages of history books. A passionate collector, she amassed a treasure trove of vintage gospel albums, each holding a special place in her heart.
