PASTOR LEONARD REECE DAVIS

PASTOR LEONARD R. DAVIS, a beloved figure in the Dallas community, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2025, at the age of 89. His legacy as a dedicated servant of God and leader in faith will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.

Born on November 26, 1936, Pastor Leonard R. Davis served as the Pastor of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church for over 41 years. His unwavering commitment to his congregation and the broader community created lasting bonds and fostered spiritual growth among countless individuals. He was passionate about teaching and embodying the principles of love, faith, and community.

Leonard was married to Cloteal Runnal Davis for an incredible 64 years, a testament to their enduring love and partnership in life. Leonard is father of three daughters and one son, nurturing a family that exemplified the values he preached. As a father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, he was known for his warmth, guidance, and resilience, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of many.

A proud alumnus of Prairie View A&M University, class of 1957, Pastor Davis further dedicated himself to his faith through education, graduating from Criswell Theological Seminary. His love for learning was matched by his passion for sports, particularly football, as a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan.

Pastor Davis had a transformative impact on his church and his community, fostering a sense of unity and connection among his biological and church families. He was a man of profound faith, intelligence, and warmth, and his fondness for reading contributed to his wisdom that he generously shared with others.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate his remarkable life. A viewing will take place on December 5, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, located at 4545 Vandervort Drive, Dallas, TX 75216. A wake service will follow at 7:00 PM. The Celebration of Life will be held on December 6, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Richard Allen Chapel at Paul Quinn College, located at 3837 Simpson Stuart Road, Dallas, TX 75241.

Pastor Leonard R. Davis's spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him, and his legacy will live on through the many lives he touched. He is survived by his beloved wife, Cloteal, and his children, who carry forward his teachings and love. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
