With heavy hearts, we remember and honor the life of Leonard Sherman Jr., who departed this world on June 19, 2026, just shy of his 82nd birthday. Born on July 17, 1944, Leonard grew to become a cherished soul whose presence left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Leonard’s life was full of compassion, and an thrill for good times. A man with a loving spirit, he made every room brighter simply by stepping into it. Those close to Leonard knew that he could always be counted on for a clever quip or a heartfelt moment of kindness.
A lover of simple pleasures, Leonard found abundant joy in going to bingo nights and the thrill of time spent at the casino. He delighted in testing his luck and sharing stories with friends. Treasured memories were made at WinStar, where the highs of the next win and excitement colored the hours. His thrill for winning ventured past WinStar on Sunday's where Leonard’s devotion to watching the Cowboys transformed ordinary days into memories of cheering for a touchdown and yelling at the TV.
Leonard’s life was defined not only by the moments of entertainment, but by the deep and abiding love he extended to others. Kindness was his first instinct; he was endlessly giving of himself, lifting spirits, and sharing in both the laughter and the burdens of those around him. His legacy is reflected in the many lives he touched with his loyalty and the genuine affection he gave so freely.
Family and friends will have two opportunities to pay their respects and celebrate Leonard Sherman Jr.’s remarkable life. Visitation will be held on July 10, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Golden Gate Funeral Home in Fort Worth, located at 5701 East Loop 820 South.
