On September 11, 1956, Linda Kay Curry came into this world at three o'clock in the afternoon. She was always first at doing things, and so her life showed it. Linda was always a straight-A student. Although she wasn't the Valedictorian, she finished in the top one percent of the class from Paul Lawrence Dunbar in 1975. She later attended college at the University of Southern California – USC, receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science.
After about ten years of California life, she came back home to Texas. She worked as a Manager at TSR and Cargo for American Airlines, where she worked and served for 35 years. She briefly worked at United Parcel Service for about five years until her final days. Although Linda never had any children of her own, her family supplied her with many nieces and nephews to call her own. She was always offering advice and doing things to help her sisters, brothers, nieces, and nephews, and of course, her friends too. Linda loved to travel reading books and love long talks too.
She could carry on a conversation with anybody at any time. Along with traveling, fine restaurants and shopping were also some of her passions. Linda accepted Christ early in life at the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Worth, where she served in the choir and ushered under Rev. Moses S. Houston's leadership. Later in life, she joined St. John Baptist Church in Grand Prairie under the leadership, of Dr. Denny Davis.
Although she didn't serve in any capacity, she worshiped faithfully (revivals and women conferences) until her death. Linda received her call to her heavenly Father on April 13, 2021.
Preceding Linda in death was her parents (Henry and Betty Criss), grandparents (Joseph and Lula Curry Sr.), and a host of other family members. She leaves to mourn Brothers: Christopher Kirk, Dietrick Criss (Debra); Sisters: Sybil Caliman, Rhonda Criss, Ara Criss, Sarah Christopher (William) and Diedra Carter (Andrew); Aunts: Jessie Curry, Phebie Curry (Favorite Aunt), Hazel Curry, Shirley Curry and Clayetta Curry; Uncles: Arthur Curry and Charles Curry (Glenda) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
