LODIS WILLIAMS

July 14, 1937 — December 16, 2021

On July 14, 1937 a special star was born to Mr. Purvis Mayweather and Mrs. Mary Lee Clinton Mayweather in Shreveport, Louisiana. That special star’s name was Lodis Mayweather Williams the youngest of nine children.

Lodis received Christ at a very early age and was a member of Prince of Peace Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas for many years.

Lodis was raised up in Shreveport, Louisiana where she attended Central High School. Lodis later met and married late musician L. C. Williams and they later moved to Dallas, TX. There were no children born to that union.

Lodis worked as a bar maid early on in her arrival to Dallas, Texas, but later started a Career in maintenance at Temple Emanuel where she also volunteered to help with the many children that came through the different programs there.

Until her transition to her heavenly home, Lodis was loved and respected by many. Neighbors, Friends and family adored her and spoke of the light that showed through her generosity and personality. Wherever Lodis went, she left a lasting impression of kindness and joy. She was no stranger to her community, and no one was a stranger in her presence.
