Loria Ann Jackson, age 57, passed away on June 16th at Charleston Methodist Hospital ICU. She was born on June 7, 1969 to Clarence Lee and Mildred Lee Brown as their second surviving child.
Loria attended public schools in Dallas and worked briefly for The Maintenance of Dallas, specifically in housekeeping at the Bank of America Plaza.
Her faith journey started at The Church of the Living God, where she actively worshiped and sang. Loria later dedicated herself to Prayer on Wheels Outreach Minister, led by Evangelist Dorothy Wright, as a Prayer Warrior. Notably, she was diligent about paying tithes and offerings and kept many in prayer.
An accomplished singer, Loria won a local talent contest but declined a recording opportunity. She was celebrated for her delicious cooking and enjoyed preparing grand meals for holidays and special occasions. Loria valued family and was know for her warm demeanor towards everyone.
Loria Brown met Fredric Duane Jackson, and after a year-long engagement, they got married. The wedding anniversary of Loria and Fredric fell on Valentine’s Day, the same day her mother passed away. Loria resided in Dallas and remained active in singing and cooking for other until her health started to declining.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Midred Brown; her brother, Clarence Brown Jr.; and stepson, Davarioius Duane Jackson. Survivors include her devoted husband and three stepchildren.
Loria pays tribute to the memory of her cherished lifelong friends, Vergie and Elisa Thomas, who held a sisterly bond. Her goddaughters, Latonya Martin and Felicia Cotton; godson, Terry, as well as numerous cousins, church family and friends share in her sorrow.
