Louis “Speedy” Dixon Sr.

Louis Dixon Sr. departed this life on Friday, January 30, 2026, 12:00 noon at the Dallas VA Medical Rehabilitation Center, Dallas, Texas. He was born on February 2, 1963 to late Aleta Ann Dixon (Swift) and late Eugene Davis, of Harvey, Louisiana. But he was loved, cherished, and raised by Jesse Swift and loved by Companion Cheryl Hunter.

Louis accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at a very young age. He graduated from John Martin High School in Shrewsbury, Louisiana in 1979 and then joined the United States Army. He served many years in the military. He also served as a Police Officer for the Westwego Police Department. After leaving the military, He was a graduate of the Christian Bible College of Louisiana, where he received his Doctorate of Theology, Theological Studies. For 6 years, he Pastored a church in New Orleans, Louisiana until Katrina came and destroyed the church. Louis loved the Lord, and he would preach and evangelize wherever they would have him.

He leaves to cherish his memory, Stepfather, Jesse Swift, 3 sisters, Kimberly Bright (Joseph), Javelin Anderson (Irvin) and the late Beblia Ann Dixon. 1 son, Louis Dixon Jr. (Porschia), 1 grandson, Gabriel Sage Dixon, 3 nephews, Gavin Wayne Swift, Joseph Michael Bright and Drew Quincy Anderson and 1 niece Mariah Bright. 2 Aunt Hazel Dixon, Marrero, La and Sabrina Minor (Ray), Gretna, La. Godfather of Syvone Minor and Joseph Michael Bright. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, the late Andrew Dixon, Sr. and Ophelia Oneal Dixon.

Speedy as he was affectionately called will be greatly missed
