Louis Charles Sells Sr. fondly known as "Name" was born on May 13, 1926, embarked on his final journey on July 14, 2026, closing a remarkable century of life. His story will resonate in the hearts of all who knew him with a deep love and resounding laughter.
To meet Louis was to encounter warmth and strength forged through decades of devotion to family and honest labor. A true family man, Louis made every gathering with loved ones more vibrant, and every quiet moment brimmed with affection. Those who sat at his side in the family’s kitchen could recall the hearty laughter that so often filled the room, ringing bright and free from a man who truly loved to laugh.
Louis was a hard worker, dependable, strong, and enduring. In work and in play, he inspired all who walked beside him. Yet, he also knew how to savor life’s joys, whether he was cheering for another 3 pointer while watching the Golden State Warriors or yelling for a touchdown watching the Dallas Cowboys sports gave him enjoyment and thrill. Sports weren't the only thing he enjoyed, he would head out to the game room or casino for a rush of excitement. The anticipation of winning big as he pulled the lever to see the number woosh across the screen brought him enjoyment and excitement.
One of the fondest memories shared by those who loved him is teaching him to play spades under their guidance. With every shuffled deck, Louis learned more than strategy; he enjoyed the laughter, patience, and stories that became part of the family’s collective memory.
With each passing year, Louis built a proud legacy: a home filled with warmth, laughter, and play; an example of steadfast joy in simple pleasures; and a blueprint for the future rooted in togetherness and resilience. Those who walk forward without him will do so with their shoulders a little straighter and their spirits lifted by his indelible influence.
Friends and family are invited to join together in remembrance and celebration of Louis’s extraordinary life. The wake will be held at Golden Gate Funeral Home in Fort Worth on July 24, 2026, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will follow on July 25, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the same location. Louis will be laid to rest at Skyvue Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 7220 Rendon Bloodworth Rd, Mansfield, TX 76063, on July 27, 2026.
