MARIA MARTINEZ

Maria Margarita Martinez, of San Antonio, Texas, age 72, passed away at home on Thursday, September 26, 2019. Maria was born on October 17, 1946, in San Antonio, Texas, daughter of the late Lino Contreras and Juana Granado. Maria loved to spend time with family and friends and had a beautiful heart, full of joy and laughter and a touch of spice.

Maria’s favorite colors were red and yellow. She loved to drink coffee, play cards and bingo, and she had a beautiful singing voice. Maria was a very strong woman who fought many battles. She was loved and cherished by many.

Maria was preceded in death by: son, Jessie Sosa, and brothers, Juan and Angel Contreras. She leaves to cherish her memories: children, Ernestina Perez, Florencia Curler, Phillip Woodcox, and Penni Resendiz; brothers, Arturo, Ruben, Florencio, and Francisco Contreras; sisters, Esther Ramirez, Petra Castillo, and Sylvia, San Juana, and Barbara Contreras; great-grandson, George Aguilera; 16 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
