MARION MILLER

MARION MILLER, (LAINEY) a beloved figure and dedicated professional, passed away on February 3, 2026, in Forney, Texas. Born on April 3, 1951, in Austin, Texas, Lainey led a life characterized by her straightforward nature, sociability, and deep love for her family.

Throughout her career, Lainey served as the Supervisor in the Culinary Department at the University of Texas, where her commitment to quality and excellence shone through. She retired after 30 years of dedicated service.  Her colleagues and students admired her for her ability to speak her mind and for the passion she brought to her work. Lainey was not only a mentor in her profession but also a friend to many, making a lasting impact on those she encountered.

Beyond her professional achievements, Lainey cherished family gatherings, where her love for cooking and entertaining blossomed. She enjoyed whipping up delightful dishes that brought joy to those fortunate enough to partake in her meals. When not in the kitchen, Lainey could often be found indulging her hobbies, which included being a good pool player and collecting various treasures that told the story of her vibrant personality.

Lainey’s proudest accomplishments were always rooted in her familial ties. Her devotion to her loved ones was evident to all who knew her. As a warm and supportive presence in their lives, she will be remembered not just for her successes, but for the love she freely gave and the laughter she shared.

Visitation will take place on February 11, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas. The funeral service will be held on February 12, 2026, starting at 3:00 PM also at Golden Gate Funeral Home.  

Lainey leaves behind a legacy of love, joy, and cherished memories that will continue to resonate with those who were lucky to know her. Her straightforwardness and vigor for life will be missed dearly by her community and family.
