Life Reflection

of

Mark Gregory McKinney

Mr. Mark Gregory McKinney was born October 12, 1957 in Dallas, Texas to the parentage of Lloyd and Mary McKinney. Where life started in Dallas, he would tell anyone who would listen that Pittsburg, Texas was home.

Mark was a member of Franklin Street Church of Christ for many years, where he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. During the time of his passing he was a faithful member of Lake Como Church of Christ in Fort Worth, Texas.

He finished his high school education at Pittsburg High School where he excelled in many areas including sports such as track and football. Mark continued his education at Jarvis Christian College, where he became a member of his beloved Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated. He then went on to receive his Bachelors in Business Administration.

He met Shelia Newsome in the summer of 1980. He would often say from day one he knew she was meant to be his wife. That day arrived 38 years ago on November 14, 1981 and to this union 1 child, Markelia McKinney, the love of both their lives and his new best friend was born. Mark took care of his girls and did everything in his power to make sure they wanted for nothing.

For many years Mark worked for IRS, Associates and Chase. Soon Mark decided it was time to open his own business. In 2004 he opened his first storefront for M&M Bookkeeping and Tax Service. In 2009 he expanded his reach and opened his second company S&M Tax Service. Both of which are still running today.

Mark was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd McKinney Sr.; two nephews, Jamal McKinney and Bruce McKinney II.

He leaves to cherish his memory:  a devoted wife Shelia McKinney; his loving daughter, Markelia McKinney; his mother, Dr. Mary McKinney; three brothers, Lloyd McKinney Jr. Bruce McKinney Sr. (Marilyn), Kenneth McKinney (Sherry); one sister, Deborah Walker; Three sister in laws, Lena Duffey, Janet Hare, and Ruth Bradford (Bobby); Eleven nephews, Andre, Derrick, Tony, Broadrick, Bryant, Travis, Jeremy, Chris, Devin, Bobby, and Robert; eight nieces, LaToya, Tiffany, NaTasha, Kenya, Courtney, Sheena, Ericka, and Danielle; a special friend Gary Wright; and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
