MARY MAUDE SESAY CHINERY-HESSE
February 15, 1980 – March 19, 2026
With profound sorrow and a heart full of cherished memories, we announce the passing of Mary Maude Sesay Chinery-Hesse, a radiant soul whose life was a testament to love, faith, and unwavering kindness. Born in Sierra Leone, Mary’s journey concluded in Plano, TX, leaving behind an enduring legacy woven through the lives she touched with her infinite compassion and joyous spirit.
Mary’s passion for children shaped not only her career as a devoted child care provider but also the very essence of her being. Her love for little ones was never confined to her profession; it blossomed in every interaction, marked by her gentle guidance and nurturing heart. She was a beacon of warmth and light, whose affection extended beyond her immediate family to every child and person fortunate enough to cross her path.
Her personality was a rare and beautiful constellation of qualities—extremely kind, affectionate, and loving, Mary was also deeply God-fearing and a true prayer warrior. Known as a prophetess, she bore a resilient spirit, steadfast despite life’s challenges. Her big heart and generous nature made her not only a giver but a sanctuary of comfort. Attentive and willing to help at all times, Mary was a genuine people person who connected with others through empathy and grace.
Among her many joys were simple pleasures: watching TV, reading the Bible, and her beloved companions, Mikey and Cheeto—the cats who held a special place in her heart. These moments of peace and devotion captured a soul devoted as much to quiet reflection as to vibrant care.
Mary took immense pride in her education and, above all, her children, who were the light of her life. She leaves behind her beloved sons, Hakeim and Amarrii Chinery-Hesse, and her cherished daughters, Teresa Brown and Erica Morales. Her mother, Mary Chinery-Hesse, her sister in love Natasha, Chandler remains a steadfast presence alongside a host of siblings who carry forward the memory of a sister whose spirit was larger than life.
We remember also those she preceded into eternal rest: her father, James Chinery-Hesse, and her brother, Herman Chinery-Hesse. Though gone, their legacy dwells within Mary’s strength and the family she lovingly nurtured.
In celebrating Mary Maude Sesay Chinery-Hesse, we honor a life of resilience, generosity, and unwavering faith. She has left an indelible mark on this world—a testament to the power of love lived boldly, kindly, and with deep devotion. Her memory lives on in the hearts of those who knew her, a cherished treasure that time cannot diminish.
