Matthew Todd Kaestner

Matthew Todd Kaestner, 60, of Azle, TX passed away in his home on December 10th, 2025 after a difficult battle with various health conditions.

Matt was born on March 3rd, 1965 to Donald and Cynthia Kaestner in Ottumwa, Iowa.

Matt was a force of nature, stubborn and ornery. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. In his later years, he reminisced on how much his 3 children and grandsons meant to him.

He wasn’t always the easiest man to understand, but he showed up without hesitation when a friend called for help. Beneath the grit and the distance was someone who cared in the ways he knew how- through loyalty, through action, through standing by others when life got hard. Today we remember him not for his perfection, but for his heart, his strength, and the quiet, rugged love he offered in his own way.

Matt was preceded in death by his mother, Cynthia, his father Donald, and 2 infant brothers Donald Jr and Jonathan. He is survived by his children Matthew, DJ with daughter-in-law Harper, and Nicole with son-in-law Brandon. His three grandsons, Jeremiah, Kayson, and Dawson. His four siblings Mary, Mark, Lisa (Clifton), and Michael (Leah). He will be missed by his nieces Lindsey (Kevin), Katie (Nathan), and Sara (Kevin) and his nephew Zackary. Many great nieces and nephews will cherish their memories with their great uncle Matt. Survivors also include Yolanda, former spouse, and her daughter LeAnn.
