MATTHEW CARRELL WALLACE MOORE II

September 13, 2000 — December 21, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Matthew Carrell Wallace Moore II, born on September 13, 2000, in Dallas, Texas. Matthew left us much too soon on December 21, 2025, his light extinguished at the young age of 25, but the impact he made on those around him will resonate in our hearts forever.

Matthew was an aspiring professional boxer, whose fierce determination and passion for the sport saw him participate in several Golden Gloves matches, even earning a place in the national competitions where he triumphed. His commitment to boxing was only matched by the dedication he showed in all aspects of his life. He graduated from Justin F. Kimball High School and took steps towards a brighter future at Mountain View College, undertaking his basic courses. Matthew was always someone who believed in growth, learning, and self-improvement, and this belief extended to everyone around him.

Fond memories of Matthew will evoke smiles and warm hearts. He brought laughter into every gathering, often insisting he was the favorite child even amidst his siblings. His playful spirit was evident when he, at just four years old, decided to take a leap into the pool when he thought his father wasn’t watching. Such fearless moments defined his character – always willing to try something new and tackle life head-on.

Matthew’s personality was a captivating mix of humor and strength. He was not only a protective older brother who took pride in his role, but he also stood as a beacon of leadership among his friends. He held Bible studies, creating a space for reflection and connection. His younger siblings looked up to him, inspired by his relentless pursuit of the things he loved.

A loving father, Matthew cherished his daughter Malani immensely. He relished in the joys of fatherhood and took pride in establishing a work/life balance while pursuing his love for boxing. He understood the depth of family and was fiercely protective of his loved ones and their feelings, embodying the essence of loyalty and love.

In addition to his athletic pursuits, Matthew had hobbies that reflected his diverse interests. He was an avid lover of anime—quick to clarify the distinction from cartoons—and found joy in gaming and studying the Bible alongside other books that piqued his curiosity. His multifaceted interests painted a fuller picture of a vibrant soul who lived life passionately.

To honor Matthew's memory, a Prayer Service will be held at Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas on January 2, 2026, at 6:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service at Turning Point Church of God in DeSoto on January 3, 2026, at 11:00 AM.

Though his time here was short, Matthew Carrell Wallace Moore II leaves behind a legacy that touches the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit will live on in our memories, and his laughter will echo in our hearts. We will not say goodbye, but rather, we will carry Matthew within us always.
