MAUD KAY HOWARD

Maud Kay Howard, affectionately known as "Kay Kay," was born on November 17, 1953, in Dallas, Texas. She departed this life on August 8, 2025, also in Dallas, leaving behind a legacy of love warmth as a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Kay Kay dedicated her career to serving others as a retailer for Goodwill, where she made a lasting impact within her community. Known for her shy and quiet demeanor, she brought joy to those around her through her encouraging spirit. Though reserved, Kay Kay found great delight in dancing and singing, often showcasing her vibrant personality during gatherings with friends and family. She also enjoyed watching horror movies, a pastime that she savored, finding both thrill and entertainment in the genre.

A beloved mother, Kay Kay is mourned by her son Michael Oates, her daughter Janice Oates-Jeffrey, and her daughter Shelia Wood. She was a proud grandmother to 16 grandchildren and a great-grandmother to 16 great-grandchildren, embracing every moment spent with them. A woman of strong familial ties, she is also survived by her loving siblings and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who will remember her fondly.

While her physical presence will be missed, the memories created will forever resonate in the hearts of those she touched. Kay Kay joins her late son, James Walker, in peace, as she is lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

A Prayer Service will be held in her honor on August 18, 2025, at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas (Allene) at 7:15 PM, followed by a Funeral Service on August 19, 2025, at the same location beginning at 1:00 PM. The family invites all who knew and loved Kay Kay to join them in celebrating her life and legacy during this time of remembrance.
